Back A Ways Before Going Forward…

A couple of years ago – OK maybe 20 some years – I started with this wonderful group in El Dorado outside of Santa Fe, NM – the Creative SisterHood.  We would meet once a month and have lunch, tutorials, conversations with good laughs and sharing.  I miss that group but one of the things we tried were journals or artistic journaling and altered books.  Mind you I am NOT a “journalist” per say but I love the look and feel of journals – it’s about the paper!  So I learned how to create them with signatures, covers and a few other techniques.  I also made my first altered book – take any book and “alter it in a way that is artistic and is no longer in traditional book form. Here is a sample of my first altered book. I am hoping to make a few more this coming year.
