Long Time Coming… Dec 2023

Sometimes as artists we find Life gets in the way. From making a living (not from art but from website design, Sagespider.com) to just general helping others family and friends. The end of the year and a coming new year is a perfect time to go back over the past year or so and think about what we want to do in the future. I so want to be more creative. In a hectic world being creative grounds us but also gives us the ability to soar above the surface chaos. We can go inside ourselves to check our mental and spiritual wellness.

In the past couple of years I made Christmas/Holiday cards with some of my scraps of my handmade and screened papers. 

I made valentines with heart maps of places that friends lived. Using handmade paper in my stash and a few other things.  Gave me a chance to “check in” spiritually with them as well as sending an outward greeting.

I created gifts using left over 2×4’s of wood scraps left from shoring up the roof tresses in the house.  I also had old bed springs from a deconstructed mattress from behind the garage for signs.  I painted my brother and sister-in-laws house on one of the 2x4s.  Hey I recycle and reuse where possible!  Never have I gone without “supplies”. <G>

You can find inspiration just about anywhere when you “Get Creative”.    This coming year with less “business/web design” work to do, I hope to have the opportunity, scratch that, I will take the time and move it up on my priority list to BE MORE CREATIVE!   How about you?
